Samuel Wilhelm one of the oldest citizens of Crawfordsville died  Saturday night at 9 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lena McKINLEY on  W. Wabash Avenue. His death came after a number of years of feeble  health and was caused by paralysis and old age. 12 years ago Mr. W.  suffered his first stroke of paralysis and later a second stroke came  on. Sat. morning he arose and seemed to be feeling better than he had  for some time. He moved about the house without requiring as much  assistance as he had had to have since his health became impaired. That  evening about 4:30 he began feeling worse and asked assistance to lie  down. Soon after he was put in bed he lapsed into unconsciousness and  remained in that state until his death occurred. It is thought that he  received a slight stroke of paralysis at that hour. Mr. Wilhelm was born  in Switzerland 79 years ago and came to this country in 1866. He  remained in NY for a time and later lived in Indianapolis. Following his  residence in that city he came to Crawfordsville where he had resided  for 41 years. He was a cabinetmaker and was employed by the  Crawfordsville Casket Co. for 28 years. Mr. Wilhelm was a good workman  and was known as a steady and industrious man. He was a member of Center  Presbyterian Church but could not attend during the past few years on  account of the impaired condition of his health. His wife died 21 years  ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Lena McKinley and two sons,  Alber and Amol Wilhelm all of this city. The funeral was conducted from  the house this afternoon at 2 Rev. Walter Johnston officiated and  interment was made in Oak Hill.
